Scrapbooking Stamps can Really Pimp Your Scrapbook

One of the easiest and most convenient ways to decorate your scrapbook is to use scrapbooking stamps. They are very easy to use because all you need to do is to apply ink on the stamp by placing it firmly on an ink pad and stamping it on your scrapbook page. Other scrapbook decorative supplies require you to do some cutting, drawing, pasting, and measuring—but not with scrapbooking stamps. That is why more and more modern scrapbookers use rubber stamps to decorate their pages. If you want to know more about these great tools for making a scrapbook, read the next few paragraphs.

• Choose a stamp design that is appropriate for your scrapbook theme. If the scrapbook includes photos of your summer vacation, you might want to choose designs like sun, waves, palm trees, swim suit, and so on. Make sure that you choose an ink that is perfect for the design.

Scrapbooking Your Memories

Many memories are made while on vacation and a great way to preserve these memories is to scrapbook them. This can be an enjoyable activity for all members of the family. Depending on the pictures, one can go with the beach theme, camping theme, adventure park theme, or just about any theme you can imagine. Scrapbooking your memories is a great idea, especially when looking back at the scrapbook years later and remembering the vacations.

If you have a lot of pictures to scrap, consider using a 12×12 scrapbook. Scrapbooks can be very basic or they can have designer covers. Many craft stores sell scrapbooks and scrapbook paper and one can find just about any theme they desire. There are also many other items that can be bought for the theme of the scrapbook such as stickers, letters, and ribbon. One tends to collect a lot of paraphenalia when on vacation and these items can be used in scrapbooks too. Items such as postcards, ticket stubs, receipts, and anything deemed sentimental can be placed right alongside the pictures.

Another great idea to add to a scrapbook besides the pictures is the journaling. So much can be said for journaling, even if it is as simple as just adding the date. This is a great way to convey the details of the trip, funny things that were said or happened, and special moments that one may not have captured in pictures. Journaling can be hand written on tags, cardstock, or paper; computer printed on paper or vellum; or it can be put in the scrapbook by using stickers.

If you are a scrapbooker of any skill level, then you will find these tips applicable to you. Every scrapbook will need a theme, a background to tell the story you are presenting and to present the thoughts and memories you want to share. These are the key tips for any scrapbooking project.

Every scrapbook should have a theme. The theme could be a season, an event, a color, or even a hobby. The theme should first be introduced on the very first page in the book. The theme should then be shown, at least in some way, on every page in the book. This will set the tone. Think of it as the setting for the story that you want to tell.

Every scrapbook needs an element of writing. Without writing, it is just a well decorated photo album. Some pages will need titles. Captions will be appropriate to explain pictures. In a caption, you can give your thoughts on the event, a synopsis of the event, or the event from the perspective of someone else. Dates are also a good thing to include, if you have them. For an extra personal touch, write short notes on some pages.

The entire scrapbook should be telling a story. It may be the story of a child’s life, or the story of a wedding or beloved family vacation. Whatever that story it, tell it with flair. Show some of the more humorous moments in life, where everything is not picture perfect. Show thought bubbles that poke fun at the subject in loving ways. Make the scrapbook fun, and a joy to dwell on.

Making a scrapbook can be just as memorable and fun as looking through the book itself. While one looks through the articles, pictures, and other memorable items, it is likely that good times and people are remembered. Scrapbooks can make excellent gifts and will last a lifetime. They are extremely useful for commemorating numerous occasions, including weddings, the birth and lives of children, and other valuable life experiences.

Scrapbooking can be done alone or with a friend or family member. The quality time that is put into a scrapbook when worked on with a loved one is priceless. It can also add much more meaning to the scrapbook if the person receiving it (if it’s a gift) can help choose items to go in it. On the other hand, a scrapbook given as a surprise gift can express more love than a gift bought in stores.

Making a scrapbook can bring out a person’s creative side. Often a person does not realize his or her capabilities until a project is started. Scrapbooking is also a trial and error type of project. There is no right or wrong way to make a scrapbook. Perhaps this is the reason many are drawn to making them! The items in it only have to have meaning to the person it’s for or the person who made it. Scrapbooks can be easily personalized and treasured forever.

While making a scrapbook does require time, the finished product really makes a person feel accomplished.
